Everyone wants to bankai on their own, or in small groups. No one wants to be part of a silent technostructure that silently improves and consolidates its gains.
Nowadays it doesn't prick me so bad that I don't bother trying that hard. Watching lots of trashy TV with family, documentaries with dad, actually talking to them about university options. So much for exam period.
For everything we learn about social interactions and group dynamics we come to accept as inevitable. Learn to survive first, but that's all you end up learning. Learn to deal with having less friends around, since its going to be like this in the workplace. Learn to hide the extra work you're doing to get ahead of others.
It's a lot to be concerned about, growing up. But as things work out, these concerns six months on will be totally juvenile. (5th June: and yes, they are.)
