I don't know, I find apologizing to a course instructor across the Pacific rather sobering and mildly hilarious at the same time.

And how she'll never understand why.

Because a pass/fail on this course won't impact much, yet she treats it as a world in itself.
Because the stuff that's been taught repeats the Sec1 English Syllabus from 3 years back.
Because her comments seem to be space-fillers, and really say very little.
Because you know she's really well paid for an average of 55 minutes a week in class reading directly off slides, and another 1 hour marking all the scripts.
Because the course material has been recycled three years at least.
Because anyone could conduct it, oh god anyoneee.

But well, my bad really. Now that the rational calculus has shifted decisively I'm actually going to hand everything in. Now there's the additional impetus of justifying this blogpost as something solemn and more than just a sour veil for protracted academic irresponsibility. And I don't know why, but this pride factor seems to outweigh every other consideration, including a pass/fail on the course, including getting ticked off, including not living up to what I have to live up to.

Just find it ironic how I subconsciously refused to do it on these (finally) articulated grounds, and how she'll never know this, and how maybe some courses down the road someone else'll do it as well and think the exact same things, and similarly fall by the wayside.

Corporate teaching sucks, it skanks everyone.

And the only real guilt pang I feel is that I wasted the school's money. One day imma donate back and repay the school for all these wasted dollars and money invested. Trust me I will.
