I'm going to start blogging regularly again! People're now entitled to slap me if I don't update for more than a week.

I'll probably start posting about stuff in reverse chronological order. Figure that I pretty much don't want to forget some of these experiences and emotions, and they're better off shared lest more people find me downright incomprehensible.

And yes, that means shelving away my perfectly justified paranoia with regards to language use for the time being.

Sabah.

Wasn't especially looking forward to it to be perfectly honest. 8 full days away from creature comforts really wasn't that appealing to me, even though I did pretty much enjoy OB Singapore. Not to mention the loneliness (which is now without an adjectival accompaniment due to the lapse in time.) and whatnot.

Played RPS and owned something like 20+ people in a row (no kidding). Before the plane ride took away my l33t skillz.

Spent an exorbitant 30 ringgit or something at Coffee Bean on happy food. Thankful I did on hindsight.

Air Asia was surprisingly efficient and all.

The socket in the room wasn't working, so I essentially survived on half a bar of phone battery throughout.

- a speedier recount from here -

Crocker was hellish, pretty much predictable terrain. Mud, mud, sloshy mud. Jagged cliff, jagged cliff. Zero plains, little flat ground, leech-infested puddles, etc. After awhile we started mocking our misery.

I remember writing in one of the notebooks that I loved the Sabah night. I probably lost the page, ohwell. My penmanship probably wouldn't be able to capture the scene anyway. I also remember almost taking a photo, until I remembered that you probably wouldn't be able to take a photo of absolute darkness.

The insects were aplenty.

Glad for every break, especially the lovely homestays. Zinc cottages are seriously charming, though the smell of manure hung everywhere both stays. They live very idyllic lives. The setting was generally conducive for philosophical musings i suppose. Not that i did anything more intellectual than pull off several beautiful contracts for bridge :D

I had 14 leeches by the end of the trek. Some were rather gross, but they supposedly help with blood circulation and all (proven or not the delusion helped.). Also realized how rare my bloodtype is. B-'s about one in five hundred thereabouts?

Base camp was heaven on earth. Except people brought leeches back.

Sea expedition was more exciting. Dinawan beach's buhyewteeful. The one memorable thing was discovering my inner talent for frying chicken wings marinated with dark sauce. Doesn't sound appetizing but it was oh-so-godly.

That's about it actually. Missing some finer details but they're inconsequential. Gets briefer from here.

We lost Mark's compass.
We paid 180 ringgit for it.
We'd have rather paid 360 ringgit than lose something that sentimental.
We headed to the airport.
Flight was delayed
Phone was out of batt
Completely conked on the way back to Singapore.
Hugged my parents.
Switched on computer.

I can't say I enjoyed it fully, though I'd recommend it to people I suppose. Yeah.
