GEE I haven't blogged in ages.

And its not right, blogging's supposed to sustain the breaths of several high fliers in our classes, etc. etc.

Especially when my blog's concerned.

I aim to be a blogging superstar like xiaxue one day.

And no, not by posting provocative pictures of myself, touched by photoshop.

Maybe I'll post someone else's...

Nah. I'm nicee.

Anyway, I've half a mind to skip NCC camp. But in an act of open defiance I would want to go against Mr Quek's interests. So I will press on.

I cannot even begin to deign the tortures we will be undergoing...

Joel showed me this JI video of someone being beheaded. Its really gross and because the victim's alive...

And the saw's rusty and its jerky and slow.

It really must hurt. Now envision that a million times over, as in the suffering prolonged a million times.

Now that's camp for you. Because we'll all die in the end, and by God's divine grace, go to heaven.

Now that was a temporary straying from the middle path. Anyway I can't imagine facing karma's judgment after death, to be reborn into this cycle of suffering.

But wait, there's judgment day in Christianity right?

Eh eh, is there a religion where you can escape scotfree? Lend me, I'll take it for a few weeks.

I'm sooo atheistic. Its wrong, really. Tuttut.

Must be more devout.

Anyway, camp isn't a very nice prospect. The briefing sucked anyway.

Then training was supertedious. And to think I didn't actually do all of the pumping. And my ribcage's splitting already.

I cannot imagine my voice after the camp. SERIOUSLY. Must tone down.

Gee anyway that day I slept 3 hours in the afternoon, then slept at 2. Finished Coach's reading at 1.42, but waited for Kahhow. Turns out he didn't wake up. Fricken...

I'm cursing the alarm clock, not LKH.

Debate today was pretty cool ahaha. I got to speak for the first time in ages.

Deliberate omission of certain facts, that constitutes lying. But the above was the truth. And to say the truth, the other side of the story sucks shit too.

So...

Well anyway it was fun.

And from what the seniors say, I WANT TO GO SLC NEXT YEAR!!!!

And well, cynically, we devoured Kahhow's stuff.

And I so lost track of the second debate, I forgot the motion completely.

Then we went downtown or something.

Omurice was like a total ripoff. I feel so cheated. But it was nice, I concede. But what the hell? Egg/weird rubbery substance on top of tasteless rice?

Maybe its my blocked nose, but but but. Not worth it anyway.

And I forgot to collect B&J's free icecream.

All in all, a bad, bad day.

And I didn't bring my vouchers for Kinokuniya, and I couldn't find the books I wanted.

Excellent, right?

Anyway to lengthen this otherwise boring post, I will draw parallels between NCC and debate.

Similarities-
Apparently, at the moment, both aren't regarded very highly. Ask any senior outside of debate what debate's like, and he'll answer..."sucks shit". Such is the reputation of HC debate. NCC's pretty similar, except they're jealous at how zai we are. Aiya, maybe not, but other EP3s, especially canoeing have a really bad impression of us.

Both are team EP3s. One cockup can cause the death of the entire platoon in NCC, whereas in debate a cockup=total wreckage of the team.

Both require a lot of outside training dedication. NCC=uniform prep, boot polishing. Debate=reading up, researching, etc. etc.

Both have plenty of sickos in them. Chewy, etc in NCC, coach, max, cca, chuanyi in debate. Note that I'm blissfully excluded from both.

Just one of the brilliant privileges I own under this URL.

Disobedience isn't tolerated, etc. etc.

And now lets move on to the differences, bearing in mind that I've actually missed out several obvious similarities. Whether thats intentional, thats up to you, I do leave a lot of guessing room.

1. Debate's a much smaller EP3.
2. Debate's a second EP3.
3. In debate, the shame of losing is shared out among less people, which means more stress.
4. Similarly, the glory.
5. More leeway concerning uniform? Pertaining to debate, imagine NCC with civilian clothing =P.
6. Debate is much more strenuous during training, due to the sheer amount of time required.
7. NCC has a track record, HC debate's for itself to achieve.
8. Obviously, one tests one's mental prowess, the other physical standards.
9. Debate is vastly more competitive than NCC.
10. NCC's insanely more possessive than debate, especially pertaining to the members and all. I mean, gordon+jiahan.
11. Debate's much more volatile, as in you can get thrown out of the team anytime.
12. Venues and other nittygritty stuff.
13. Volume+value+type of interaction with other schools. I doubt NCC has many such chances?

Perhaps there are a plethora of other reasons, but due to unforeseen circumstances I will end at an ominous number 13. Figure why.

No conclusion as to which is better, draw that yourself. Purleahse, I'm above that.
