Nothing much really to blog about...

I just dropped by the HCI homepage and saw the announcement about DSA 2007. I still remember then, I was still deliberating between RI and HCI. I didn't want DHS, nor NUS because my science SUCKS. Yeah so it was a major headache. My dad kept bugging me for an answer, he wanted to finalise it. When I said I couldn't decide, he told me to flip a coin.

I flipped it once, it came up tails=HCI. Deep inside I was still considering RI and I didn't want to dump my entire future into just 1 toss of the coin, so I tossed it again. Again tails. I flipped it for 5 more times in succession, 5 more tails. Then I got pissed and swapped it around. 4 heads now. Then I thought, "Since this coin wants me to go HCI, I'll go there...." My mind was pretty much set after that, even after going to the RI open house. I actually skipped the HCI open house because it was too early. My parents didn't know I had made up my mind, and made me go. My face contorted in intrinsic dislike when I first entered the school, no idea why. It was.. creepy. And old. And the field was in a horrific state. The building looked like it would collapse anytime. The library was puny. Puny, even though I hadn't seen any other libraries, somehow I was certain HCI's was at least twice as big. A whole horde of my classmates were there, and they seemed set upon RI. RI isn't really a nice name, it doesn't ring nicely. Even though they had been to HCI's open house and they said it was much funner... its really sad.

Then came the SMOPS and APMOPS. It was great fun, and APMOPS gave me a cool medal with TKK there. This was followed by the RI-BP science Challenge. A filthy bronze medal was given for top 10 (APMOPS was top 40). It had dirt stuck everywhere, and the only new thing was the sticker (crude). Such inferior quality! And the organisation sucked too. A puny number of schools...

And it was ruddy lousy. The pop question they asked was so easy I got it in 4 seconds when the rest were thinking. The rest (besides me) went to RI fyi....

Total crap right. Later we found out the medal was actually recycled. The casing was recycled too, even though it cost less than 2 bucks. The medal had something like... 3rd for National Rugby Competition 1957 or something. I wanted to swear, what attitude was that? All this only added to my looking down on RI.

Despite RI's long long history its much less glamourous than HCI. They copied IP, etc. etc. We are the trailblazers, they are the followers. So what? Dung, RI, dung!

Well thats pretty much it on my story, why I came to HCI instead of RI... Its perfectly justified and I truly believe that RI's record is solely brought about by its record, meaning its name attracts the best, so it is the best. I can kapuey on its face sia... if the best doesn't go there its totally crap. SO there!
