Okay, presently I have poached the aircon remote control from my somewhat half-asleep sister who is slacking. Since she had the aircon on, I switched THAT off and switched on my own. Rather ingenious of me, I think.

Well anyway, I shall briefly describe the day. We started with flag-raising as normal. And prepared to stand for a few long minutes while the announcer read out a long list of achievements blah blah. (You ever wondered why we got so many? Your school just doesn't report those that they lost, haha) Yes, but today was special. It expressed the College's long-standing dominance among the JC arena in Singapore. Clearly imprinting a page in the annals of history. We pawned yet again. Yes, we PAWNED. Caps. 3 perfect scorers, the most in Singapore. Compared to RJC or ACJC, our nearest competitors, *pukez*... You get the point. Anyway, Mr Hon, being a charismatic speaker and humourous as always, gave us cheer as we didn't have O'levels to cheer for. Anyway. It was good news as we had dismissal at 12 instead of 1.30, skipping the largely monotonous and onerous Chinese period. It was merely okay for me, but for the rest of the class, a large porportion of which had overdue Chinese homework which they had conveniently FORGOTTEN again....

2 periods Mr Jared Quek, which I largely forgot the earlier part. Mostly tabulating our grades, and we had JUST edged out IN, our perennial and highly unnerving competitors. Not surprising, for in Zi Cong, Gregory and Chomz we have a solid base of pure linguistic talent, that easily outstrips that of ANY class in Singapore. Including RGS and RI and ACS and all those "ang moh" schools. Yes, thats how "zai" we are. Its a fact we highly think is wholly correct. Correction, we KNOW its correct. =D. We then had a very, very interesting presentation on lucid dreaming by Mr Jared Quek. Thats being awake in your dreams so you can do a lot of things. First you must recognize you are dreaming. Then blah blah blah. To a large degree, unbelievable. But its true I guess... The last time I experienced such phenomena was 8 years ago. Dreamt I was a Power Ranger zapping some evil monster... Well in any case, the applications were so appealing I decided then and there to attempt achieving lucid dreaming. The best one is as follows, quoted from Mr Quek

"Wenyao, my friend fell asleep during a very hard Maths paper. He dreamt that the Maths genius in our class wrote out all the answers on his testpaper. When he woke up he scribbled all the answers he could remember and scored a nearly perfect grade."

Principally cheating. But no one would know. Maybe I'll get Gregory or Zi Cong to write out my essays. XD Wondered during recess... What if life is just a lucid dream? What if I'm just asleep and unable to wake up, in a place somewhere, in another dimension? Is this just an imaginary world? What if I lucid-dream of another world, where I lucid dream? Won't this go on forever? I have plenty of such thoughts... pretty mentally stimulating but very frightening.

Next was science. Watched a video on skyscrapers and physics. More interesting than anyone would expect. Lots of spectacular scenes and pure engineering marvels. A building called the Millenium so high and so nice. Tallest building in the world, city within a city. Probably will need new materials, like the transition from stone to steel. From steel to superpowerfibreglass? Or something? Enchanting thought. Imagine having lightweight projectiles of the strongest tensile strength you could throw around... Yes, and the omnipresent problem of location. Hong Kong's harbour? Bleargh they don't deserve it. Tokyo? Earthquakes... Chicago? No space.... Singapore the best. we could somehow clear a forest and build it there. Great infrastructure and investment potential. Not to mention near zero chances of natural disasters. Appealing., isn't it?

Next up was a lecture by some Prof. Xu. He spoke weird english with a distinctly foreign accent. From China. After an hour of inattentiveness by the general Sec 1 iSparkies, he finally found out we could understand Chinese, and it went faster after that. Wei Cher was beside me. He's really good at Maths. Novel solutions and a mind willing to accept the strangest and most bizarre methods. Its a miracle he isn't in MQT. Maybe I'll speak to Mdm Tham. Seriously, he's better than me or Peter. Sobz. Got 3rd in class for Math, 38/42. Compared to Joseph or something, he deserves this chance. Xu droned on about some methods of proof using the pigeonhole method and classifying infinite groups of numbers into finite classes, all in warped English that was barely understandable. But... how often do you get a CHINESE mathematics professor to teach you? Never if you're in ACS or RI, I'll bet. Scintillating arguments from an eminent university Professor. He seemed relieved we knew Chinese. Joseph got some accolades for voicing out a solution that didn't fit in with our topic, slowing everyone down. In my earnest opinion, he should only voice out something that is relevant and not show off about what he knows and thinks, which is often the general view that others already are aware of. Anyway, my forte, if you could count that, is in finding twists to answering trick questions, not developing proof. Dismissed, much to our relief after that refreshing interlude.

Tried to get everyone to hand up their literature stuff. To no avail. Less than half the class had actually done anything. Thus I decided to let them self initiate. Stoned with OSS in the class until 2.20. Perfect estimation, for I reached Tampines JUST on time to catch the bus home. Another eventful day in a very cool school that I couldn't bear to leave. Thus I stoned. And slacked. And chatted. In school...

HCI ROCKS THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE LOVED MY SCHOOL!!
