Well... I don't know what some people mean by a long post. but 1188 words scarcely can beat a mediocre, daily post of mine. Making up for 2 weeks lost? Oh my... Maybe I've got too much time, but blogging is my passion! Yeah! Like NCC and sticking up for my school are too. I shall note a few things about my blog before I begin. First, I have finally found out that I do have a dedicated readership, consisting of OSS, Kevin, Muk, Jiahan, Chewier, me and many more (around 0?). They havn't tagged at all unless I had prompted. This tells me that my usual style of posting is highly interesting and won't turn people off. Thus I shall continue writing like this. (what can you expect, this is an academic blog after all....) A comment on media in Singapore. I find it horribly biased. Quoting 2 separate incidents. During the Straits times report on Top Scorers for JC, they only acknowledged 2 of our 3 9 distinction scorers. Other schools hit the headlines regularly too, for any score of minor achievements. The largest eyesore by far is one of the newest schools in Singapore, a year or two old. It hits the headlines for what it is teaching, not what it has achieved. This makes it very "qianbian".

Well back to a short summary of the day, followed by a rant about sadistic and evil people you meet daily in Hwachong.

First, the continuation of the IRS research module. We had the use of an excel spreadsheet to evaluate survey data explained in a strangely fake manner. Much better than yesterday, but still dull... one might go so far as to say the 3 research consultants have created the 2 most boring days in HCI life. The first periods of the day weren't even worth mentioning.

But the period after recess, which was spent in a strangely deserted canteen (sabbat week rawkzorz!) was okay. We had a worksheet on paper aeroplanes and aerodynamics. Wow. Would be great if I hadn't hated science. However, I DO hate science. Muk edited Yin Hong's airplane idea and made a sort of hovercraft. Not exceptionally fast, but when swooping down in what seems is its final arc, it experiences an upthrust, which carries it further. Could have entered it for the hangtime category, but someone screwed it. Overusage led to it being rendered useless. So we created a new one! Which was far inferior to its predecessor. By then we had spent so much time we only had around 10 minutes left. Thanks to an incredible brainwave from a scheming and devious person, we completed the worksheet. We did the first set of experiments duly and faithfully. Then, in the footsteps of the Korean stemcell researcher, we began fabricating a set of results. Turned out that our answers were startlingly accurate. We were the only ones who had enough sense to do so anyway. The rest blindly followed. I mean, with intensely changing variables like the wind and armpower, how could you get reliable results? Might's well fabricate. The teacher had weird hand gestures with Alvin and Clement were sniggering at all along. Anyway, in the airplane competition, the 3 categories were manoeuvering, distance and hangtime. Tyn Long won manoeuvering, due to 1L's spirit and our alliance with 1M. Our integrity didn't get our way in the process of "fair" voting. OSS also won the distance one. Undoubted spurred on by a Special someone. His awesome stage presence wowed everyone. People attribute it to Miss Sarah Foo. I doubt it. Anyway Lee FY told us off for jokes concerning student-teacher relations. Heck, in a girl-deprived environment like HCI, it can't be helped. Really. Hongwei the perv from 1M squeezed me thing. (perv is a word.) Its a first in HCI. And I owe Muk a Supernet. Whatever that is, it doesn't sound remotely nice. We cheered for everything. Wootz. Yeah then with some time left we had a lecture, then cleaned up the class.

The lecture went like this.
Main points...
iSparkies are hated by the mainstreamers (Aphelion, Proed, Ortus.)
We must "love ourselves",
"don't let people drill you down",
"LOVE OURSELVES because the world hates us".
Wow how applicable is that.
I will become more egoistic.
"They are looking for opportunities to hammer us, the supposedly "gifted" batch."
"You are the worst, most unconducted, worst, most arrogant iSpark batch."
"People pinpoint mistakes, don't make any."
I luv (thats a word) iSpark.

Today I was very helpful, helping a total of 2 teachers with menial tasks. One of them very talkative. Asked why I came to Hwachong, a non-coed SAP school. I said I liked the school. She asked why. I said I liked the greeny courtyards. She said that wasn't valid. I went to put down stuff. She asked again. I said it was gut instinct. Then she insinuated I was gay by saying "Thats provocative on the edge of Brokeback Mountain." I smiled my fakest smile, nodded and took my leave. She said it was nice talking to me. I thanked her, a logical contradiction. Of course, your personal dignity often stands between this, but caught between the devil and the deep blue sea, I rather take one than get stuck for all eternity inside a block of ice.

I skipped lunch due to some unknown reason. Then I spent 10 minutes shuttling between the NCC gathering side and the iCouncil interview room. First I thought it was at Space (the consortium room) but it wasn't. Thus I spent another 3 minutes sprinting to the actual venue. All this running is taking a toll on my energy. I had to hurry the interviewers, members of the all-important Exco. Fortunately there wasn't a need to. Someone was late so I took precedence. See? I'm so important. Don't make that idiotic face -.-''. I'm warning you.

I projected a fake me as usual, a facade. I have a million facets, a million facades of which I have to select one. No one knows me. I'm weird. Eccentric. Can't blend in with the crowd. Thus I'm hateful! I acted unnaturally cool and friendly. Rather comfortable with that. They asked some weird questions like how were M&Ms created round and told me to market a Nokia handphone. That I did in an exaggerated and highly lame manner. Terence said he liked my attitude. Nonchalant, don't-care-a-heck? Awesome, someone appreciates me. Well I accidentally let slip that I suffer from a teenyweenyeensyweenyyellowpolkadotbikini bit of stagefright. Terence looked crestfallen. Alvin looked like he wasn't too happy. He never looks like that, come to think of it. Well I suppose I can squeeze through.

I hope. Having screwed ANGLES, screwing iCouncil isn't a nice thought at all. Now I have reached the extent whereby I'm really pissed with myself. No mood to rant due to the overwhelming urge to play a good game of scrabble and homework. Sobz.
