Okay, I SERIOUSLY hope Mr Quek does not read this. I pray... More on the truant stuff later, a BRIEF summary of the day. And an interesting dialogue with my personal reflection. Kind of weird really, my friends all think I'm a weirdo. That's okay... not too bad really... better being different then a stick in the mud kind of person. Having to blog everyday is actually a kind of relaxation. But you might run out of topics. But in HCI no one can run out of topics. So I shall have to continue spamming my Archives. Dang...
Starting from yesterday night. I got 1st runner up. For chat log with tyjiunn? 160 kb worth. Champion was only 172 kb. Something to be proud of. Perhaps its because my name is super long. XD
I think I'm actually suffering from a sort of forgetfulness... I forgot what Mdm Tham taught for Maths today. Think it was about numbers in standard form. Whatever. Lessons were pretty standard, meaning they were so quirky and WEIRD. Thats standard. Art was pretty fine... we slacked deciding on a topic. Being highly egoistic and proud of our school, we decided to make postcards with pictures of HCI edited by Adobe Photoshop. (Our school's so beautiful, even with our inferior photography skills I bet it'll turn out great.). Enjoying the air-con and talking to OSS and Peter. Chomz had this really nice comic strip. Inspired by the guy 5 years ago who got 1.5k for slipshod comics?
History was taken by English, not bad really, because English is much more organised and we learn more History than in History. Went through our third test-moderating diagnostic test corrections. Got 16.5/19, but GSW miscalculated, giving 17.5/19. A1 anyway. Should clarify with Mr Quek. Followed by Lit, where I got my paper, supposedly well done. Spent 20 minutes on it the night before. Not fully adhering to PEEP format. But nonetheless 500 words. Jiahan did 2 themes and got 700 words. So unfair. So thats why. I spent 10 minutes trying to lengthen my essay to beat Jiahan's. (*Childish naivete I know, but thats... )
Then we walked all the way back to the Computer Block (next to the art block). To and fro, we probably walked about 1 km plus. IS is a rather fun lesson, really. I copied the html code from Mr Yong's website. So I got it done in no time at all. Actually, I took 1 hour. But some people didn't even finish =. Those honest people, that is. Being a very dishonest and naughty leetle boy, I copied and edited and thus got 2/3 ACE. Didn't know it was a maximum of three until Weicher (Chewier, Wilcher, Wheelchair) came to tell me. He used a list (ul, ol). I don't know. But thats much easier than the option I took. Which was much nicer. =. Perfectionist. I made a large sprawling table, and after 15 minutes of mania I finally completed it. Looks really good and organised. To html pros thats basic. But I'm... somewhere in the bottom bottom frame. So thats remarkable. Have to commend myself or shall die of selfcriticismoverloadcitis.
On the way back to class, we conveniently met Mr Quek outside Space. Outer Space. =/ Had a rather intriguing discussion about our IRS project. So now we have to contact the NKF Children's Cancer Fund and Jeremy Lim, its ambassador. After the recent furore... According to Mr Quek, we couldn't just go in there to get an interview with a cancer patient. Which was rather right. We have to interview the doctors, Jeremy then ask whether we could have a real interview with a patient our age. Mr Quek said if it were a girl it would complicate matters as he didn't want any tragic love story... but thats beside the point. Fun talking with Mr Quek. Can't imagine talking to Mrs Teo like that. =/ Hopefully it works out. But there's a moral obligation. We have to phrase our words real nice so they won't feel awkward or what. And its hard not thinking about CIP when you are visiting a cancer patient... Got slammed for low MQ. Moral Quotient. Personally I think its 0... closely connected with my EQ, which is woefully loww... Yeah so what got me thinking was this. We got to make friends with that "unlucky" guy. Not that we are unwilling, but if he finds out we stuck with him just for the IRS project he's gonna get real sad. So its a long term commitment with lots of reflections perfect for PCME. (*Slammed for no MQ.) Whatever. Hope its possible to communicate with this guy we interview using MSN or something. Not to let him feel left out you see. A pang of guilt would strike me if we just... left. Never to return again.
Besides IRS, the conversation took a curious detour. Mr Quek said that in the Level Meeting they had had yesterday, Mdm Tham recommended me for the post of Monitor. Absurd I think. Yu See is doing a rather good job, though rather obscure from my point of view. Mr Quek slammed that suggestion immediately. He said I don't seem like the sort that would like enforcing discipline among my class. Implying I'm more of a joker. Which is rather cool =D. Anyway I'd rather play it safe. Joining the iCouncil is better than joining the turbulent CMC. Practical. My dismal history as monitor in primary school. Sacked in P2. Unsuccessfully retaining my post in P5. Scolded by Mrs Teo for staying in class instead of boring myself out in the school hall. Anyway so I have monitorophobia. But thanks to Mdm Tham for recommending me anyway. Didn't know Mr Quek had such a good eye for seeing what people like. =
Was persuaded to join the street soccer thingy because there were not enough members. Anyway, Yin Hong had already notified the teacher that we had something important in school and taken "leave" for us. =/ Somehow I still feel a trifle guilty. Tried to pull out but failed. Anyway I found out I suffered from spikygrassocitis. Thats an allergy you get for defending yourself against an angry Jerome onslaught for insulting him on spiky grass. Got real itchy. Besides that. I cut a few cool passes and Yin Hong said I was a good passer so I got the midfield job for the B team. Weicher stuck around with me even though he wouldn't get to play. That guy's real nice. =D. Ben turned up last minute to play for the A team. He plays surprisingly well. Using his Flyingshoetactic he swept the arena with constant shoe bombardments. Yin Hong the class equivalent of Wayne Rooney, who had scored a hattrick in our warmup match, seemed rather subdued. Holding his mettle he tried to tackle the seniors to no avail, sadly. So Shao Wee's heroics combined with some time wasting by Yu Xuan held them to a 2-0 scoreline. They were Secondary 3s, so thats forgivable. In the B team round, we got FLOGGED 5-0 in 8 minutes. A few blunders by all of us. Annihilated by the very same team. Clearly shows the discrepiancies in our football standards. Sob.
Then I went home where I am sitting typing this out.
A very, very, weak footballer...
