As a matter of fact I was rather pissed today. Not that I showed it but well through some things it was rather apparent. Anyway there is some good news before we move on to the more depressive elements that will always be a trademark element of my blog...
Today, the end of the 2nd week of HCI Term 2, wasn't really the end. As a matter of fact, I've got appointments tomorrow, from 7.45 all the way to 5. Sobs. Anyway our timetables are screwed and they havn't given us our new ones. Administration got to jiayou! -__-'' For 1L's sake.
Chinese was our first period, we were supposed to draw some stupid thing based on some stupid passage. My artistic talents have always been rather smothered (don't snort, its rude), so...
Ah yes, Yin Hong got the highest in the consortium for Chinese Comprehension, so its gratz to him and boos to me for relinquishing my flukey position. Heck, when have I ever been a topper in Chi? Nor Eng for that matter.
PE was fun. Fun because I managed to break history in my short and extremely weird life. It was the 2.4km re-trial-run. Which meant that if I passed I wouldn't have to run in the mornings anymore. Warmed up quite a bit, then we were off. Using some warped math logic which I quickly accepted to be true I took the outer lane to that I could cut to the inner lane sooner and unblocked. Yes and this I did.
We were off. I put on a momentary burst of speed that left me in second, behind some bunny-jumping person who was skipping off like some crazed bunny. Tralala. Soon he was tired and me and another guy overtook him and I was overtaken by him. Never mind, because I had been jogging consistently for 3 rounds. Lolx. 2 min 10 secs, 2 min 12 secs, 2 min 8 secs. Look at the remarkable consistency. Somewhere around fourth Alvin caught up, while I was still stalking that guy, keeping him within sprinting range. It was then that I realised that winning didn't matter....
So I began to walk. And walk I did for 3/4 of the 4th round. All headstart and cushions I had tycoly gained in the first 3 rounds, wrecked. It hurt. So now I had to break even for the last two laps. It wasn't that I had no energy, it was complacence. Anyway thanks to my walking Alvin had gained a sizeable lead. But again, winning didn't matter.
So I continued walking. (how spastic can I get) I sprinted the last 300 metres to finish 11 seconds behind ALVIN. Only both of us from 1L passed. The rest were condemned to failure. Samuel the new bloke had a major stitch but I didn't lap him. He came in at 17. Bill Cai Yang, physically fit and normally very very irritating, failed. FAILED? Yes, failed. Even with the new MOE guidelines. Now my aim is to attain 14 min 30. Before cutting it down further. Hopefully...
Recess was a sick affair as usual. Besides Jerome and Muk's usual antics and Shao Wee's zidaoziyan de skits, there were a host of other "activities" you could watch. Well I chose none, choosing instead to slack on the classroom floor. Cooling off. Madam Tham came in 20 minutes early, to everyone's aghast/astonished/euphoric shock. Money collection, which I settled by borrowing money. Now I owe Muk 9 bucks. I seem to remember someone else owing me $.
Jared Quek's lesson had been swapped, to relief/innermost wailings. I lie somewhere on the relief side, having tasted the apexes of his sadism/efficacy. Anyway it was Bian Jiang again and she blew the better part of a period showcasing our inferior drawings. Admittedly mine was very inferior, but, when have I ever been superior in Art since P3, when I spent 7 hours on a single colouring session?
Infocomm next, after much confusion and all, we landed in Com lab 2, well known for its superfast computers, so to speak, so the hardest and highest of demands are placed upon the puny shoulders of the 30 odd computers. Koh Kim Tian's seriously too much a sticker for order and discipline. With wheeled-chairs we had to sit in rows like pri sch kids. I decided Mr Yong rocked better from the start, no offence. Anyway C++ wasn't that hard to understand, even without background knowledge. Jerome was doing "you know what" next to me, to everyone's amusement. Yes the notes had been "miraculously" transformed into an object of fantasy, one that was most apparent to the owner. Innocent, tian zhen as always, paying attention to Mr Koh despite falling asleep, trying to ignore the sickness of Jerome and Yin Hong. God could someone save me from this madness? Or will I become mad myself? Only time will tell.
Philo ain nice so I won't venture into that area.
During History I was wiping my specs innocently...when....
Jerome: OMIGOD YOU LOOK LIKE MISS FOO. WITHOUT SPECS
Li Ki: WTH I DON"T LOOK LIKE MISS FOO YOU BLOODY LIAR *****#^$@^$(*#@&$. Kenneth when consulted upon his expert opinion: OMIGOD YOU DO LOOK LIKE MISS FOO
Muk: STRIKING SIMILARITY STAY AWAY FROM OSS LATER HE DO SMTH TO YOU.
My eyes were rolled totally. I didn't believe them of course. I mean, why would I? Firstly, the gender disparity. Secondly, the age disparity. Etc. Why would I look like her? o.0
Anyway after a period of bloodshed after I had finished mutilating the last corpse during the class discussion, it was another hour of madness. 30 min me and bill spent doing up art crap. 7 min we rushed to canteen after putting my bag down. 5 min eating. 8 min changing into NCC dress. Full wardress....
Which was an exemplary act of lunacy on our part. But we did it in the end, to much relief. UNiform inspection which took 45 minutes, standing in the midst of a sea of green, stifling heat affecting my logical clarity (hey logic? is that needed? zzz).
FOOTDRILLS ARE FUN. WE KEEP TIO SAMRA. OR WHATEVER. But the NP people were simply hilarious. Kudos to them for bringing joy and laughter into this otherwise dead and grey world. Responding wrongly to the easiest commands, falling all over the place, that we were almost beginning to bend single with laughter. No offence Ben
Staff: I KNOW THEY ARE FUNNY BUT COULD YOU CONCENTRATE?
Staff: YOU WANT TO LAUGH AT THEM, NEXT TIME KAY?
Andrew: Aiya lucky got such ppl bring happiness into our lives....
Etc. etc. Lots of scathing remarks that were irrefutable. Soz Ben, you get it on monday. heehee.
PT was fun. Because I was slacking, pissing JH off. We pumped out the letters of PART A. Then we did 40 situps and 50 squats. Even Shakespeare could not have described the look on JH's face when I slacked with pumps.
Games, where it was raining. After the rain stopped we played some form of basketball. ABC? Being an absolute noob at basketball I prepared for an airball. After all, the previous 8 had missed.... and I zhonged? My second shot was air though. The next time I tried I shot again. The next one I hit the hoop. For a respectable 2/4. Given the rest had 0/4. Such is the dismal state of HCI basketball. But Andrew was zai he hit 4/5. NCOs RULE! But he was outshone by this bloke on sizzling form. He shot 5 consecs. To clinch first or something. Either way I was real happy with meself.
So there and we all packed and went home. For today, tomorrow evening and Sunday I will have to edit my IRS powerpoint. Hope it turns out fine... wouldn't exactly LIKE being kicked out in Prelims.
