Okay... well I've started YET another post with okay, but never mind, thats completely beside the point. I have been delivered some shocking news from the old St' Hilda's side.
Way Tan, as everybody knows, is the awesome childhood prodigy whose braininess way surpasses anyone in Singapore, I believe. His IQ is estimated at 180, a consensus between Kevin and I. I won't keep it a secret that I'm jealous of his intelligence, it degrades the only thing that I pride myself on. A brief timeline for him...
6-7=Won the Maths Olympiad with P6 St' Hilda's Students?
8=Joined P4 GEP, skipping 2 years and the terrible GEP test.
9=Currently taking university level mathematics, P6 higher Chinese.
I have played 3 games of chess with him, all of which I lost by a close margin. Master of the endgame, around 8th in Junior Singapore? Well I have conversed with him on several occasions.
The first of which he had an emotional breakdown. He kept saying "Why, do you think I have it easier than you? I took so many more tests than you just to get into the GEP! Come on! So what if I'm so much younger? Accept me!"
I think that that poor bloke should have some weight off his shoulders. Being pushed too hard is bad news. He's blazing a trail at lightspeed. Relax and enjoy your childhood, for once its over, its all gone!
The second time he emanated a supreme confidence. Mrs Teo wanted to have him join the Scrabble first-team, but with much jealousy on mine, Gabriel and the rest of the team's part, we decided not to include him. Firstly, he did not have the experience. No other excuse. Undoubtedly would have shone. I was under the opinion that his languages were markedly weaker, but he has prodigiously proved me otherwise...
The third time I don't remember, really. Yes, thats my crude knowledge of this prodigy. A blue chip, trump card, ace of spades, trumper, owner, pawner, well any school would do anything to get him there. Personally I don't think he will choose HCI, his mother looks quite the kind to impress her opinions on him and make all the decisions, and she looks a proper banana. Talks like one too. NUSHS or RI would be more likely. Though he wants to be the brainiest pastor around. Bleh.
I think that this syndrome is very unhealthy if it continues for him. While his IQ and ability in academic disciplines are rocketing, I think he is unable to make many friends as he skips classes, rushes through them too much. Terrible. I feel he has ruined his childhood. He speaks as though others were stupid, were blind, he speaks as though he is the only person that matters, is horribly insensitive, hyperactive, and class-disruptive. I know because I was in his AMEC class. Refused to cooperate, thought the world of himself. Facts, merely. With a healthy dose of my personal feelings, I would be in deep trouble with the police for defamation. Scary. Frightening. The uniformed blue figures with swinging batons, who punish and deliver the law mercilessly.
Yes, back to today...
Everybody seemed more... sick today. All the sick jokes and everything... Yes, thats about it. Got 2 ACE for Infocomm like everybody else. Great. Was fun as usual. Bloated after lunch. Thats about it. Not going to bore everyone with my usual long drawn out details, thats for tomorrow. Undoubtedly my blog viewers are on the decrease.
Summary on Way...
Cute kid with cute name, great potential. I think its because of his superb memory. Easily the smartest person in Singapore. But EQ... well he's the type to become a comic villian, so people should keep a tighter eye on him.
Had nearly forgotten him, kudos to Kevin for reminding me.
