Okay, so today we had a cross country mass run, du-uh. (Note I started with today again.) On the road there, my mum decided to take a "shortcut" across RI straight to MacRitchie. RI jinxes me I guess. Lost and we turned round and round. 15 minutes late despite settin gout 1/2 hour early. In the end we went to HwaChong and found the road from there. So much better. Terrible start. And my mum was moaning and groaning about her quarrel with my dad. My dad's the really hard and proud kind, not willing to take the initiative to say sorry. Thus... this cold war and putting up with complaints has to continue, despite my young and weary heart.

Waiting in the shade on a humid morning isn't exactly the most productive use of time. We played lots of handphone games... Wasted time. Our turn, and I HAD to go to the toilet. Thinking the race had started, OSS and I ran, only to find the starting point was somewhere else. That doesn't matter for him, he's a fast runner. But unfortunately, I was panting by the time i reached... the STARTING point. Terrible I tell you.

Run run run run, then walk walk walk walk because of traffic congestion in that tiny road. Not that I had enough stamina to run anyway. So I walked for the better part of 2 km. I didn't fall down, I took special care not to. Poor Jia Han did and still finished faster. Bleh. That doesn't matter. Didn't see anyone from 1L throughout the journey. Walking on a lonely road... haix, the only one I've ever known? Haha. The last 1.5km I walked/ran quite okay, so I got 34 minutes 58 seconds, passing the pass mark by 2 seconds? Not bad actually. The mark was quite lenient. I'm not the athletic sort... quite good already. I think I run faster with people running beside me... encouragement is good for your health.

English test is tomorrow, and its a composition? Petrifying. Must use more enriching vocabulary and characterisation. Sniff. Mine is so limited! Bleh. Chomz and Greg are undoubtedly the confirmed A1s. haix.

Lets get back to describing my complex emotions. Today somehow I thought a lot about St' Hilda's. Kind of miss that school... honestly. Despite the scuffles and fights and all. Weary of being the centre of attention for no apparent reason. I find it hard to understand myself. Wanting to be remembered and speshul, yet... I don't really mind a mundane (anagram=unnamed) life, as long as it is happy. Familial warmth... its been quite a while since I last had it. Sister called me a ******* because I scratched the car door... mum and dad arguing. Well, I usually keep my nose out of this. I am reminded of a certain phrase that my old friend kept saying. (*=forgotten) "ni zou ni de ***, wo zou wo de du mu qiao" Will update this when I know the actual one. He always said it when I tried to do something flashy or speshul or with extra finesse. I never really understood the context of usage. But I could generalise that he preferred a simpler and more direct approach. Unlike me. I'm kind of like Stanley in certain aspects. He went to NUS to avoid all P6 classmates. Lol. Only one from St' Hilda's in HCI. I don't really mind that. Only it gets a trifle lonely. Thats why Wei Han chose to go to RI, the "safer" approach. I beg to differ. HCI is much better, but maybe because RI is proven... bleh. NUS is a new school, with a curriculum that has yet to be fully unfolded or refined. No idea why I wrote that, never mind.
